The Curse of C-Webb?

Draft night 1993: The Warriors trade Anfernee Hardaway and 3 first round picks to Orlando for Chris Webber. After one year, Webber demands a trade. The Warriors haven't seen the playoffs since. Warriors fans have gone through a lot during the 12 year post-Webber era. We've seen a lot of terrible players come through here (does anybody remember the days of Tony Farmer, Mookie Blaylock, and their 19 win seasons? I actually saw Mookie walking around Stoneridge when he played for the Warriors), we've seen our best player choke the coach, we've seen a lot of terrible players getting huge contracts:

- Erick-a Dampier (7 years/48 million)
- Adonal Foyle (5 years/41.6 million)
- Derek "I think I'm Kobe Bryant" Fisher (6 years/36.8 million)
- Mike "Headband" Dunleavy (5 years/44 million)
- Troy "Bitch" Murphy (6 years/58 million)

Wouldn't Arenas look good right now in a W's uniform had they had the money available and they weren't screwed by a technicality in a rule? But that's a whole different story...

we've also seen a lot of terrible draft picks:

1995 - Joe Smith (could have had KG, Rasheed Wallace, Stackhouse)
1996 - Todd Fuller (could have had Kobe, Nash, Jermaine O'neal)
1997 - Adonal Foyle (could have had T-Mac)
1998 - Vince Carter traded for Jamison (could have had Nowitzki or Pierce)
2002 - Mike Dunleavy (could have had Amare Stoudemire or Caron Butler)

I understand hindsight is 20/20, but even a broken clock is right twice a day, dammit!

Despite all of this, this seemed to be the year that it would all come together and the Warriors would finally make the playoffs since the ugly Webber-Nelson feud 12 years ago. Nellie-ball was back, Boom Dizzle was finally healthy and playing like an All Star (Tony Parker? Are you freaking kidding me?), Monta and Biedrins had emerged as the PG and C of the future, and Mullin somehow found a way to get rid of Dun Dun, Murph Durph and their huge contracts. The Warriors were hanging around waiting for J-Rich to come back from the broken hand after the All Star break to make their playoff push, and BOOM! Baron goes down and needs knee surgery. Any hope that remained of making the playoffs this year was sucked out of all Warriors fans faster than it takes Adonal's ass to get off the bench when he finds out he's going in the game. Like all Warriors fans are used to saying by now...maybe next year.

Here's something that always makes me laugh after all the heart-breaking losses:
