Nobody talked about the guy when he played, so why should anybody care about him now just because he announced he's gay? The only reason ESPN is making such a big deal about this story is because they're trying to sell books (ESPN is publishing Amaechi's book "Man in the Middle"). This stuff all over ESPN and espn.com is all about money. The other night I saw on the bottom line something like, "Former NBA player John Amaechi announces he is gay, making him the first NBA player to announce he is gay.” There are gay people everywhere, so naturally there are gay athletes as well. It's John "6.2 PPG" Amaechi. Nobody cares. If Kobe comes out of the closet, come talk to me.
Tim Hardaway ruining his life in an interview about John Amaechi and gay people:
Good luck finding a job after those statements Timmy.
On another note: I really hope Monta throws up that W (three finger salute) to represent the Warriors when he's receiving the MVP trophy.
