This quiz makes me appreciate what's going on now so much more considering all of the pathetic teams I've watched over the last decade or so.

2) Last year we drafted Ike Diogu and Monta Ellis, however there was a third player that we had drafted who is no longer with us. What is his name?

1) What did we trade in order to get Antawn Jamison at #4 back in the 1998 draft? Who did that pick end up being?
2) We drafted Mike Dunleavy at the #3 pick in the year 2002. However, the Warriors had another first round pick that year. Who was it?
3) For the 1999 draft, we had the possibility of drafting current Maverick Jason Terry. However we gave that draft pick up and other players in a trade that sent him to another team (not the Mavs) for a former All-Star PG. Who is this PG?
4) Who is "The Janitor"?
5) What two players did we trade for Baron Davis?
Level five questions (5 pts. each) - As hard as winning a game without Baron Davis
1) Back in darker Warrior days, the Warriors drafted an amazing athlete from Auburn. He is known for having "the dunk" in college, and wore the number "4" as a Warrior. Unfortunately he saw limited action as his health problems proved to be too much of a problem (wow, what a surprise!). Who is this player?
2) During the same dark era I spoke of above, the Warriors drafted a PG out of Pittsburgh. He had the same last name as a former Warrior player, and he ended up in Philadelphia backing up Allen Iverson for a little bit. Who is this player?
3) Name the former Warrior who was traded to Detroit for Cliff Robinson.
4) After acquiring Eduardo Najera from the Mavs, we traded him and Luis Flores to the Nuggets for two former first round lottery picks. Both of them were busts. What are their names?
5) Who currently are the five people involved with the Warriors local broadcasts? (Radio included)
THE MONEY QUESTION (10 points) - Nearly impossible!
Who "pile-drived" (as in picked up and threw to the ground) Shawn Bradley in a Warrior-Maverick game?
SOLUTIONS
Let's see how you did! Try to be honest with your answers...
Level 1 (1 point each):
1) Baron Davis is #5, Jason Richardson is #23
2) Monta Ellis won Most Improved Player. Congrats Monta!
3) Don Nelson, the current Warrior coach, was the last coach to take the Warriors to the playoffs (13 years ago)
4) The Warriors traded Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Keith McLeod, and Ike Diogu to the Pacers for Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Josh Powell, and Sarunas Jasikevicius.
5) From watching the games or reading stats, you can see that he current 8-man rotation stands at: Baron Davis, Jason Richardson, Monta Ellis, Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington, Andris Biedrins, Matt Barnes, and Mickael Pietrus.
Level 2 (2 points each):
1) Patrick O'Bryant was our pick this year. You see him in the suit behind the Warrior bench all the time.
2) The Warrior arena is Oracle Arena. Oracle bought rights to them earlier this year.
3) The final regular season record was 42-40, the first time over 0.500 in 13 years!
4) Andris Biedrins is from Latvia. He's our Latvian lefty!
5) Mike Montgomery coached the Warriors in the previous 2 seasons. He previously was the coach for the Stanford Cardinals.
Level 3 (3 points each):
1) Earl Boykins is 5'5. That guy is 133 pounds, but can bench 300 pounds!
2) Chris Taft was drafted 4 picks before Monta Ellis. Poor guy: he had great potential, but was hindered by injuries. He was waived earlier this year by the Warriors.
3) Kelenna Azuibuike, D-League stud and British Native. Buff ass guy.
4) Jason Richardson, Mickael Pietrus, Andris Biedrins, Monta Ellis, Adonal Foyle, and Patrick O'Bryant were all drafted by the Warriors.
5) Avery Johnson was a former PG for the Warriors, and we all know the "Best Center in the west" Erick Dampier was a former center with us. Kevin Willis was also a former Warrior.
Level 4 (four points each):
1) The Warriors traded their #5 pick and cash considerations for Antawn Jamison. That pick turned out to be Vince Carter, his college teammate at North Carolina.
2) Jiri Welsch was drafted the same year as Mike Dunleavy. Supposedly a good shooter, never performed well with us. He had some luck with the Celtics and the Cavs, but now he's out of a job.
3) In another brilliant management decision, our pick that would have landed Jason Terry was traded for washed-up all star Mookie Blaylock. The man loved golf more than he loved playing basketball.
4) Brian Cardinal was known as "The Janitor" on the Warriors, for hitting the deck hard going after loose balls all the time. The kind of player you need for any team.
5) Speedy Claxton and Dale Davis were traded for Baron Davis. I had the pleasure of seeing those two play the very night they were traded for Baron. Speedy definitely is good, though hindered greatly by injuries.
Level 5 (5 points each):
1) Chris Porter of Auburn is known as having "the Dunk" in college.
2) Vonteego Cummings was our beloved (sarcasm) draft pick, who ended up backing up Allen Iverson in Philly.
3) After the 2003 season, Bob Sura (former most improved player) was traded for Cliff Robinson. A good all-around player, however his career has been hindered by injuries as well. He now gets paid to do nothing by the Rockets.
4) The two lottery pick busts that were acquired from Denver: Nikolai Tskitishvilli (#5) and Rodney White (#9). Both of them play at the local park for lunch money now.
5) If you're a Warrior fan you should know these guys' voices easily. Tim Roye (radio), Bob Fitzgerald, Jim Barnett, Matt Steinmetz, and Glenn Kuiper.
The "Impossible" Question (10 points)
Mark Davis (who at that time was a 10-day contract signee) got into it with 7-foot 6 Shawn Bradley.
SCORING
So now that you have all your answers and your point totals, add them all up. See how much of a Warrior fan you are depending on your range:
0-5 points: Did you buy tickets for the game? Just give them to me. It's a disgrace that those tickets were wasted on you.
6-15 points: Good job, you've watched maybe 2 games on TV and read the newspaper maybe once. I still don't want to hear you talking Warriors basketball like you know anything.
16-25 points: Fairly impressive. Either you have read your fair share of the papers, paid attention to the news, or live with a die-hard Warrior fan. You have potential, and I want to see you stick through some more rough times with the Warriors. Then maybe you can look me in the eye when talking GSW hoops.
26-40 points: I like what I see. You definitely have been paying close attention to what's been going on over the course of the last couple of years. I know you're a fan, and feel free to join me for Warrior games.
41-60 points: You definitely have been around for the years where we showed glimmers of hope, and either you have a fantastic memory or knowing this history means as much to you as knowing your family lineage.
61-85 points: Definitely a die-hard Warrior fan. You've been there for the Warriors during the dark times. You've bled Blue and Gold over the past couple of years, and probably have felt the pain that I have, as well as the joy to see the Warriors finally make the playoffs. The Warriors are your team.
86-95 points: You're sick. You're so sick you've got the flu. And not like Desmond Mason, but like our man Jason Richardson doing these dunks.
What did you score? Are you a bandwagon fan? If so, go back to being a damn KINGS fan!
