Jill and I went to the Giants vs. Dodgers game yesterday. It was a spontaneous thing. We were already in San Francisco for the annual TriStar card show where I go every year to get autographs from different athletes. We left Davis around 9:30, but the autographs didn't start until 5:00 I had already bought my autograph tickets and made a few rounds around the building to check out what everyone was selling. I checked to see what time it was and it was only a little past noon. 12 o'clock!? Dammit! What are we going to do for the next 5 hours?
We decided to walk to AT&T with no tickets in hand. I had it all planned out. I had $78 in cash on me, but I took $18 out so I'd only have $60 in my money clip so when I went to buy tickets off a ticket scalper I'd just be like, "Oh, sorry man. I only have $60" thinking that the scalper would be desperate to get rid of the tickets since it was getting close to first pitch. The first scalper approaches me and wants $80 for the pair of tickets, so what do I do? I get nervous and tell him that I have $78. What and idiot! Man, talk about straying from the game plan.
We got in the park just as Zito threw the first pitch. A few minutes later, BOOM! Luis Gonzalez hits a three-run bomb over 421. First thought: 3 runs? Game over. Unfortunately, I was right. Their offense is so pathetic that fat ass David Wells had a perfect game going in the 6th inning. Simply p athetic. That makes my record when attending 0-4. Uhniiice! Word to Borat. Good thing I didn't bet on yesterday's game; I would have had a better chance of winning if I bet on whether or not Andris Biedrins was going to make a free throw, who by the way is going to be a baller this year.
The Show
After watching a lot of pathetic hitting, the excitement finally started.
Matt Cain
Russell Martin
The Franchise - Lincecum smiled when I asked him to inscribe FRANCHISE under his signature. I also should've told him to smile with his mouth closed. Look at that grill!
Noah Lowry - Jill's new favorite Giant. Zito got the boot already. It looks like I'm going to have to shell out another $20 for a Lowry shirt.
Kevin Frandsen - Jill's second favorite even though he has a "weird tan." Haha.
It was an expensive, but all around awesome day. I pretty much was smiling the whole car ride back to Davis. I'll have pictures of all my autographs including these online one of these days when I have some time to take pictures.
Jackson
Last Friday Henry and I spontaneously decided to drive to Jackson. It was my first time going to Jackson to gamble. Actually, it was the first time I've played at a table in a casino. We got there around midnight and I was pretty nervous when I sat down at the Blackjack table since I didn't really know the procedures like when to buy in, where to place your chips when you want to double down, the crazy shuffling, etc. After about 50 hands someone comes behind me and shakes me. WTF? I turn around and it was none other than my boy Steven Pocoroba. Haha. What a coincidence. After I bust (no pun intended) I get up from the table, with Poc to go find Mick. We talk a little bit and yeah yeah, blah blah, whatever. It was past 5 am and Henry and I were both up $140+ so we decided to drive back to Davis. I got a couple of hours of sleep and woke up to bake in the sun at the first game in the new Aggie Stadium.
I find myself saying, "Let's go to Jackson!" at least once per day. Don't worry Mom, I have it all under control :p
