Luckily I got done with class at 10:00 so I had plenty of time to get over to Oakland. I had my folding chair and notes to study so the wait wasn’t too bad. I actually think I was more productive while waiting than I would have been if I was at home. I had a 16x20 of all the rookies that participated in the Rookie/Sophomore game to get signed. A lot of people asked me where I got it, and I just gave them the typical “Internet” answer. If you know anything about getty images, it’s much easier to say that I just got it off the internet. The rookie 16x20 is something I just got. It looks pretty cool and this rookie class looks like it's going to be solid so I thought it would be a nice project to start.
These signings typically get pretty crowded, and today was no exception. To put it in perspective, I don't think there were that many more people at the LeBron James book signing my cousin and I went to in New York. We got in line at 2 AM for a noon signing because we figured LeBron in New York would be a zoo, but it really wasn’t. The line was probably 400-500 people, but I imagined it would be something closer to 1,000.

Today’s turnout was probably around 250 (rough estimate). I was about 15th in line. I started walking down the line just to see how many people were there. There were about 100 more behind me, and then I turned the corner to see this:

Apparently the line wrapped around even more, but I didn't go down to check it out.
Curry’s signing was scheduled for 5:00 and he was actually on time, which is pretty rare for one of these things. As I got to the front of the line, I put my 16x20 on the table in front of Steph and he said, “Man this is nice. Where did you get this?” Out of habit, I gave him the standard “internet” answer. Then I just told him that I like his game. He thanked me for being a fan and then I shook his hand.
Overall, it was a good day. I got a lot of schoolwork done and I got Curry’s autograph. Tyreke Evans is having a signing on Saturday and my boy Steven Pocoroba will be in town for that so I’ll have a nice start on my rookie project with the top two rookies done. Yes, top two. Don't even hit me with that Brandon Jennings nonsense.
