Baseball is Back!

Going into today's game between the Giants and Brewers, I was wondering if anything was going to happen after what Prince Fielder did last year after hitting a walk-off against the Giants.

For those that don't remember:

Apparently there is still animosity. The first pitch that Barry Zito threw to Fielder hit him in the back. Andrew Baggarly recounted the retaliation on Twitter:

extrabaggs First pitch to Prince Fielder ... hits him. And Prince flips the ball back to Zito.

extrabaggs It was up and in, got Prince in the back. He's standing on first base and applauding right now.

extrabaggs Umpire Ted Barrett came out in front of the plate and said something to Zito. Doesn't look like he issued any official warnings.

extrabaggs Inning over. Zito walks in front of Fielder coming off the field. No words, no eye contact. Will Suppan retaliate? I'm guessing it's over.

At least Zito didn't pull a Shawn Estes when he threw it behind Roger Clemens in retaliation. It is pretty tough to miss Prince Fielder though...

It's nothing big, but it got my juices flowing. Baseball is back!
