Warriors fans should root for the Hornets. Sound odd? Yes, but it makes sense as long as they don't pass the Warriors.
The Clippers own the tie-breaker against the Warriors because they have a better division record, but if there happened to be a 3-way tie for the 8th seed, the tie-breaker would be moved to conference record because the Hornets are in a different division than the Warriors and Clippers. In that case, the Warriors would own the tie-breaker because their conference record is much better than the Clippers and Hornets.
If the Clippers were to fall off and the Hornets were to tie with the Warriors, that would be fine too since the Warriors have the tie-breaker because of the head-to-head record (3-1).
Just another scenario for us Warriors fans to think about...
