Am I the only one that still believes that the Warriors can come back from a 3-1 deficit? They definitely got outplayed in game 5. They live and die by the 3, and they fell flat on their faces yesterday. I understand the whole free-flowing offense, but does a fast break always have to result in a 3? Is taking a 3 pointer five seconds into the shot clock always necessary? Go to the hole and at least draw a foul, ESPECIALLY when the 3's aren't falling. Make adjustments when things aren't going right.
J-Rich. Is he going to be an All-Star caliber player or just an above average role player? First of all, it seems he is satisfied just shooting 3's and taking fade away jumpers all game long. What happened to the days when he would drive the lane and try to dunk on somebody? The last time I checked he was a two-time SLAM DUNK champion, not the 3-point champion. Take it to the rack once in a while! Sure, blame it on the knee, but I think that is a bunch of bull shit. Secondly, he has to bring it every night. 25 points one night and 7 the next isn't going to cut it. Baron and J-Rich have to be their money players. Baron will bring it, but will J-Rich? If not, consider the season over.
Even though game 5 was miserable to watch (good thing I didn't end up going to that game)and they now are facing elimination for three straight games, I think they can still pull it off.
I know it's the biggest cliche in sports, but they have to take it one game at a time. If you think of it as having to win three games in a row then the deficit seems somewhat insurmountable.
Can they win on the road? The Warriors could've won game 1 and should have won game 2 had they made one more free throw in the waning seconds. They have yet to win on the road, but I think that they have the confidence that they can.
Steal one on the road, take care of business at home, and they will have all the momentum going into game 7. Sound like a plan? Keep the faith. They've already come from 9 games under .500 to make the playoffs and pulled off the biggest upset in NBA history, so why can't they pull this off as well? I BELIEVE, hopefully the other Warriors fans do too.
Side note: I just found out that my Uncle Clark reads my blog, so I just wanted to say hi. Uncle Clark, feel free to leave comments once in a while. Actually, that goes for all you you! Haha.
