Question Time

Anonymous asked: he's hurt. how don't you get that?

Oh, I get that. I also get that Kobe is 31 years old and has logged over 44,000 minutes in his career. Bodies break down. Older people get hurt. We can't just act like he's 25 years old again and that after offseason rest he will be as good as ever. He's no longer in his prime. Just look at his free throw attempts per game. Since the 04-05 season when he averaged 10.1 FTA per game these are the averages in each of the following years: 10.2, 10.0, 9.1, 6.9, and finally this season when he averaged 7.4. Yes, his team has gotten better over the last few seasons so he hasn't had to shoulder the load offensively. However, if you look at field goal attempts per game, it hasn't really decreased. He actually took more shots per game this season than he did in 04-05 when he averaged 10.1 FTA per game.

I'm not saying he's washed up. He is still a top two player in the world. He just isn't what he used to be. In my opinion, there really isn't even a LeBron vs. Kobe conversation anymore.

Anonymous asked: what do you think about this A Rod walking on the mound thing?

Honestly, I had never heard of this "unwritten rule." I was listening to KNBR and Mike Krukow said that he had never heard of it either. Barry Zito said that AJ Pierzynski is notorious for doing things like this to get into a pitchers head. I don't really have an opinion on this situation. I find pretty much all of the unwritten rules of baseball amusing. What I will say though is that I'm tired of A-Rod's antics like when he screamed "Ha!" when rounding third against the Blue Jays to distract the fielder, when he tried to slap the ball out of Bronson Arroyo's glove, and now this one. Everything about A-Rod is just too much for me. Oh, and *applause* for you, Dallas Braden. Anytime someone tells A-Rod off, I'm all for it.

If you want to read more about the unwritten rules of baseball, this book seems very interesting: The Baseball Codes: Beanballs, Sign Stealing, and Bench-Clearing Brawls: The Unwritten Rules of America's Pastime. I've skimmed through it and I plan on taking a day to go to Borders and finish it.

Anonymous asked: Jason Richardson - 42 pts

Yep. He has taken some abuse in Phoenix with the legal issues and his inconsistent play, but I'm glad to see him doing well. J-Rich, Matt Barnes, Stephen Jackson, Michael Pietrus - all the ex-Warriors in the playoffs from that We Believe team, I wish them well.

Anonymous asked: what are you going to do with a nutrition degree?

I'm not a nutrition major, so I'm not going to do anything with a nutrition degree.
